Swaps
Trade at the market price, split between the order book and Kumbaya for the best fill.
A swap trades now, at the best price available. Use one when you care more about filling than about the exact price.
Book, pool or both
When a token has a Kumbaya pool, Lightbeam prices your swap on the order book alone, on the pool alone, and split between them, then picks whichever gives you the most. The swap panel shows the split, for example "Order book 75% · Kumbaya 25%". When your swap runs, the contract re-checks the split against the prices at that moment, so you never get a worse route than the one quoted.
If a token has no Kumbaya pool, the swap uses the order book alone.
What you pay
| Part of the swap | Fee |
|---|---|
| Filled on the order book | 0.5% taker fee |
| Filled by Kumbaya | The pool's own fee, such as 0.3% |
| Every transaction | Network gas, in ETH |
The panel shows the fees for your exact swap, and You receive is always the amount after fees.
Slippage and price impact
Slippage is how far the price may move against you between pressing Swap and the transaction running. Choose 0.1%, 1%, 2% or 5%. If the price moves further, the swap is cancelled and you keep your tokens.
Price impact is how far your own swap moves the price. Large swaps on thin markets move it a lot, so Lightbeam steps in:
| Price impact | What happens |
|---|---|
| 5% or more | A warning |
| 15% or more | You press Swap a second time to confirm |
| 50% or more | The swap is refused. Use a smaller amount or a limit order |
Good to know
- You can pay with ETH directly. Lightbeam wraps it for you.
- If the book cannot fill your whole swap and there is no pool, the panel says how much can fill now, and the rest stays in your wallet.
- The order-book part of a swap counts towards rewards. The Kumbaya part does not.
